Mandeep Sandhu | | No longer will be airpors just places to board the aircraft or pick up relatives, they will soon become major commercial centres wherein people will shop,eat ,drink n virtually live.
The airports are fast becoming retail destinations, with world majors and Indian both planning to set up their shops there.
Be it dutyfree or domestic retailing or F&B, we have companies eyeing the airport for all of it.The new airports coming up at bangalore and hyderabad have seen keen interst from world majors like Nuance with Shoppers stop, Heinemann with Oberois and many others.
The travel retail industry is heading towards a great beginning.A new industry is unfolding, with a plethora of opportunites for everybody.
From city retaling to rural retailing....airport retailing is the next big thing in India....

Abhishek Gupta | | You are right. All the major retailers are now making a beeline to the airports.
In fact Shopppers Stop has started a division on airport retailing.
